Eternally yours time in design

Billions of products effectively die before their time has come. They can be found in silent places in homes, or they are needlessly recycled, buried on landfills or simply burnt. Time in Design aims to map out ways of designing and planning products so that their value is sustained and they can be kept in use for a longer time. In fact this book is about one of those ideal future products, and equally about all of them. It tells the story of Vivian, a name that represents any product. The life of Vivian is traced all the way from the circumstances of preconception, which is now, through the times of development, purchase and preferably long period of use, right up to oblivion, the time when Vivian will inevitably be forgotten.
